Dave Hastie – Zwartkops Tribute

“The idea behind Mini’s and Lotus’s’s’s (J) comes from the fact that Dave raced these cars in his career (toll gate pull-aways does count as racing).

Dave had close dealings with so many individuals in motorsport through his event organising and his photography, that most people at Zwartkops on the day would want to, and have a reason to, participate in the parade. It is not about that; the parade is a tribute to Dave’s racing and achievements. Dave was multiple Autocross champion in the 70’s driving Mini’s, and for 2 decades was a stalwart of the TLR breakfast runs, long distance runs and mischief making. Not to forget the spin in his 7 at the final turn of the Krugersdorp Hillclimb.
