Lotus seems to have reached the point where much of its time is spent\u00a0releasing special edition models of its existing\u00a0lineup (rather than adding anything new). Before this Exige 350\u00a0came\u00a0the Elise 250\u00a0and the Evora 400 Hethel, to celebrate the brand\u2019s 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n
This latest model shares much\u00a0with the updated Exige Sport 350\u00a0on which it is based, as well as\u00a0some lightweight and performance-enhancing features,\u00a0and\u00a0a unique paint-job and interior design.<\/p>\n
It still makes use of the supercharged 3,5-litre V6, which delivers 258 kW and 400 N.m to the rear wheels via\u00a0a six-speed manual transmission. Seeing that the Exige 350 weighs 26 kg less than the standard model, it\u2019s able to do 0-100 km\/h in 3,7 seconds, with a top speed of 274 km\/h.<\/p>\n
While the\u00a0exterior gains\u00a0a funky livery, the interior scores\u00a0lightweight carbon-fibre sports seats, forged alloy wheels and a lithium-ion battery to shave off as much weight as possible. Either black leather or Alcantara upholstery can be specified.<\/p>\n
A revised front access panel cover provides more efficient cooling for the engine, while the new rear wing is apparently\u00a0capable of achieving 42 kg of downforce at 160 km\/h.<\/p>\n
Other toys to keep the driver\u00a0occupied include a driving mode selector and in-car multimedia system, which is just about all you need in a car like this to keep a smile on your face\u2026<\/p>\n
